Justice upright
Justice holds a sword in one hand and a scale in the other. Clarity and fairness, and neither apologises for the other. Something in your situation is asking to be looked at plainly, without the story you've been telling yourself about who's right. Whatever choice or consequence you're facing, it's likely to land exactly where the evidence actually points, not where you'd prefer it to. Take responsibility for your part before anyone asks you to.
Justice is cause and effect showing up clearly, without much room left to argue the details. This often means a decision, contract, or situation where the facts matter more than the feelings around them. If you've been putting off owning your part in something, this card is telling you the accounting is due. The outcome here tends to be fair, even when fair isn't the same as comfortable.
Justice reversed
The scale has tipped. Something unfair is happening, or a decision got made without weighing all of the facts. It can point to avoiding accountability: yours, or someone else's, being dodged instead of faced. Sometimes it's simpler and more uncomfortable: consequences you've been outrunning for a while are finally catching up. Avoiding the truth of this has never once made it less true.
Something genuinely unfair is happening, and it's fine to call it unfair rather than talk yourself out of it. It can also point to avoiding accountability. A decision made without looking closely enough at the consequences. This is worth double-checking: paperwork, agreements, or facts that were assumed rather than confirmed. Balance gets restored eventually, but usually only after someone's willing to look at the whole picture honestly.
How this card is read
The passages above show this card on its own. In a reading, its meaning is composed again around its position and neighboring cards, so the same symbol can speak differently each time.
