Strength upright

A woman closes a lion's jaw with her bare hand and no fear in her face. Not because the lion is weak. Because she isn't fighting it. Whatever feels wild or overwhelming in you right now doesn't need to be defeated, just met with a steady hand and enough patience to let it settle. This is courage that looks like calm rather than force, power that doesn't need to prove itself. The gentlest approach you can imagine is probably also the strongest one available.

Strength here isn't about overpowering anything. It's the discovery that patience and gentleness can move something that force couldn't. This is a good card for a situation you've been trying to muscle through; try loosening your grip instead of tightening it. Real confidence doesn't need to prove itself loudly. It can afford to be calm, because it isn't actually afraid. Whatever feels untamable right now probably responds better to steadiness than to struggle.

Strength reversed

The hand has come off the lion's jaw. Self-doubt is talking louder than the steadiness that usually holds things together. It can mean raw feeling breaking through with nothing left to soften it: anger, panic, or insecurity running the show instead of being held by it. Or it's the opposite: force used where patience was actually needed, wrestling with something that only responds to a gentler touch. The lion hasn't won. It's being handled the wrong way for the moment.

Forcing something that would go better with patience. Gritting your teeth instead of settling in. It can also mean a confidence crisis that has nothing to do with your actual capability, just how loud the doubt has gotten lately. This is a moment to be gentler with yourself specifically, not just with whatever you're dealing with. The steadiness you need is still available; it's just been drowned out for a bit.
