Four of Wands upright

A garland strung between two poles, and people who turned up to mark something with you. A milestone reached, properly. Something worth celebrating has arrived, or is about to: a homecoming, a completed stage, a reason to actually gather people together. This is stability that feels good rather than restrictive — a foundation solid enough to relax on for a moment. Let yourself enjoy this one without immediately looking for the next thing to fix.

Something is genuinely worth marking, and there's a real temptation to skip past it toward the next thing. This card is about arrival. A stable moment, a home, a milestone that's been properly reached rather than merely survived. The people around this matter as much as the achievement; this isn't a solo card. Stop and actually enjoy it. That's the whole instruction.

Four of Wands reversed

A celebration postponed, or a homecoming that didn't feel the way it was supposed to. It can mean instability just underneath a surface that looks fine — a foundation that hasn't quite settled yet. Or the milestone happened, but alone, without the people who should have been there to mark it with you. The good thing is usually still real here. It's the timing, or the company around it, that's slightly off.

The celebration is off, delayed, or somehow didn't feel like one. This can mean instability at home, or a milestone reached without the sense of belonging that was supposed to come with it. It rarely means the achievement wasn't real. More often it means the context around it isn't settled yet. The stability here is still coming; it's just running behind the success.
