Two of Swords upright

A blindfolded figure holds two crossed swords, perfectly balanced, refusing to look at either option. A decision is being avoided, probably because both directions feel like they cost something you don't want to lose. This stalemate can't be resolved by more thinking; at some point the blindfold has to come off. Whatever you've been putting off deciding, the avoidance is costing more than the decision would.

You're avoiding a decision by declining to look at the information that would make it obvious. The stalemate here is maintained rather than imposed. Both options are still open precisely because neither has been examined. Peace bought this way is real but temporary. Take the blindfold off. You already suspect what you'll see.

Two of Swords reversed

The blindfold is slipping. A decision forced by circumstance rather than made on your own terms. It can mean information overload that finally broke the stalemate, or a truth too big to keep ignoring. Or it's the opposite: still stuck, but now aware of being stuck, which is its own kind of progress. The crossed swords aren't holding steady anymore. Something is about to move.

The avoidance is ending, either because you chose to look or because circumstances stopped letting you not look. Information arriving here tends to be less dramatic than the anticipation of it. It can also mean a decision made under pressure without the deliberation it deserved. Whatever you now know, act on it before it becomes comfortable to un-know.
